  • When you instruct us to act on your behalf in connection with your accountancy and/or taxation affairs and then only to the extent that such processing is     necessary to perform that work.

  • In addition, as a regulated industry, where we have an overriding obligation to process personal data in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements and professional body obligations.

  • If you choose to provide us with personal data if you have made contact with us through our website, by email or any other form of communication.


How we use the information we collect


We collect this information to enable us, our employees, consultants or sub-contractors to:

  • Process your request or application;

  • Deal with your accountancy and taxation affairs as requested;

  • Develop our website and services (we may use data to monitor website usage and to develop and improve our website);

  • Conduct any marketing activities; we may also use data provided by you to update our records. You may withdraw your consent to the receipt of marketing materials at any time by sending an email to us at office@altorian.co.uk .


How we protect your information


Your personal data may be stored in different places, including within our IT systems and manually on our premises. We will keep your information confidential in accordance with our internal procedures which cover storage, access and disclosure of your information. Please note that the internet is not a secure medium and communication through this website between you and us may not be secure. For this reason, you may prefer not to send us any email that contains confidential or sensitive information, but send it by other means.


Updating your details


If any of the information that you have provided to us changes, or you no longer wish to receive email from us, please contact us or let us know by sending an email to office@altorian.co.uk .


Retaining your personal data


We will only retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and processed.  In order to comply with HMRC requirements, we will usually hold your personal data for seven years following the year in which it was originally processed, with the exception of personal data relating to anti -Money Laundering and proof of identity.

You have a right at any time to request erasure of your personal data and if you wish to exercise this right please contact us.  


Legal Requirements


We may be required to disclose data in order to comply with regulatory or legal requirements. We will endeavour to notify you before doing so, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.
